Membership and Jury Updates

Membership Renewal Applications due by April 1st

The Arts and Craftsmen Guild is holding its annual membership drive. Guild members are reminded to renew by April 1 for 2020.

The guild was formed in 2015 to promote and preserve the home of the American Arts & Crafts movement and to foster fellowship among artists of all mediums along with their supporters. Since then, we have grown to over 60 members, including 39 Juried Artists. Membership networking and educational meetings are held at 6:30 pm on the second Thursday of the month.

Don’t lose your connection with the Arts and Craftsmen Guild. Please renew your membership today and help us continue the Arts and Crafts tradition on the Historic Roycroft Campus. You can find membership information and the 2020 meeting schedule and updated topics at our website www.artsandcraftsmenguild.com.

Accepting Applications for March Jury

Our guild’s next jury will be held on March 21, 2020 on the Roycroft Campus. Interested artists are encouraged to apply and be prepared to present exemplary work, demonstrate originality in their design, as well as a solid knowledge of their processes. The jury is comprised of experts and artists from various media and hosted by Vicki Schneider and ACG Chair, Yvonne Stoklosa.

Additional details, contact information and applications are available on the ACG website. The deadline for applications is March 3, 2020.

Fundraising Update

The Guild continues its fundraising efforts that support our scholarship program and Roycroft restoration projects. We will be requesting artwork to be donated by the June Roycroft Campus show and raffle those items to raise money for our scholarship program. We also sell Arts and Craftsmen Guild t-shirts in the Copper Shop.

This year our Juried Artists will be collaborating on art projects leading to an October completion. These pieces will be given to the copper shop to be displayed and sold. Proceeds are to be used for Roycroft Campus restoration projects.

ACG to Award Local Student $500 Scholarship

The Guild is proud to continue its support of art education by offering a $500 scholarship to a high school senior pursuing college studies in the visual arts. Students from East Aurora and Iroquois High schools are eligible to apply. Information and specifics regarding the requirements have been sent to guidance counselors at both schools. Deadline for application is May 8, 2020. More info is available on the Guild website, or contact John Thiesen at 716-652-6218.

Guild Grows its Social Media Presence

We now have over 1,000 likes on our FB page. Stacy Smith, our social media chair person maintains our website and promotes Juried Artists by showcasing their artwork and contact info on the website. Juried Artists are encouraged to post their work.

Dates for 2020 Roycroft Campus Art Shows Set

This year’s art shows on the Roycroft Campus are scheduled for June 27 & 28, October 3 & 4, and December 5 & 6, 2020. Show details and applications can be found on the RCC website. The ACG will have our usual booth and will need Guild members to volunteer to help staff it.
