Karen Carlton

I love the ever changing fluidity and randomness of nature. Nature is not only beautiful but unpredictable. It is a joy to paint. Painting is my freedom of expression, and I love seeing my brushstrokes and emotionality on the canvas.

I have usually intended a journey on the canvas for the viewer. There is a movement around the canvas to keep the eye and mind going. This may be done with color or with brushstrokes.

Currently, I am a juried artist of the Arts & Craftsmen Guild for oil painting and an Artist in Residence on the historic Roycroft Campus. My studio is located on the Roycroft campus at 21 South Grove Street, Print Shop Suite 245
East Aurora, New York 14052. I trained at the University of Connecticut School of Fine Arts.

Karen has cards and prints available at the Roycroft Copper Shop, Thin Ice in Buffalo and The Rusty Button in East Aurora.
